- 03
No dance experience is required for most of our classes! Our welcoming instructors ensure everyone feels included and comfortable, no matter their skill level or background.
Our salsa and bachata drop in classes are geared towards students with some experience although beginners are certainly permitted to try!

Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely. For salsa, bachata, cumbia, and burlesque, some students prefer to wear heels. That is fine but not required.
For stretch and dance fitness classes, some students bring a yoga mat but we also have loaners on site for your use.
For ballet, tap, or jazz, please bring suitable footwear such as ballet slippers, jazz shoes, tap shoes, or other dance shoes.
Bring a bottle of water and positive energy!

Yes! We offer Open Studio hours twice a week at no additional cost to members and series students, in order to allow students a chance to practice outside of class. We also host monthly social dance nights designed to give our students the opportunity to practice with others in a low-stress environment.

Absolutely not! In our partner dance classes (salsa, bachata, and cumbia), students rotate, allowing them to practice with a variety of people. Students who do bring a partner may choose to rotate or to remain with their own partner.

Absolutely. At Level Up Dance Studio, we take consent and safety very seriously. Our instructors work hard to make sure that everyone in the class feels safe and that everyone understands the appropriate boundaries. Partner dance can involve close contact with other people but all students should feel comfortable and able to opt out if anything doesn't feel right for them.
